Our Story
One Church Started as Colonial Point Christian Church under the direction of
Restoration House Ministries in New Hampshire,
and with support from Traders Point Christian Church in Indiana. In early 2000, after
months of preparation, the church planting team mailed 200,000 invitation postcards to
the community, resulting in the first worship service held on march 5, 2000 in the
auditorium of Timothy Edwards Middle School in South Windsor, CT.
Since our launch, we have truly become a community that honors God, reaches out in
love, and grows in our relationships with Him.
Under Pastor Jim Turney, we have baptized over 50 of our congregation, and we spread
our reach into the community where we have worked with the Vernon Rockville soup
kitchen, food pantry, and shelter. We have held back pack drives, and even ran a
community event called Dancing With The Stars.
Our congregation is made up of Christ followers that are faithful to the church and
mission and we have donated over $25,000 to families in need. We continue to give to
the community and bless where we can.
One Church is entering it’s 22nd year with a renewed focus on serving and worshiping
with the communities of South Windsor, Vernon, Ellington, Manchester, East Windsor,
East Hartford, and beyond into Hartford County
